When the going gets tough!
We have all heard the saying “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” The saying implies that tough people can persevere and do what needs to be done in the midst of trials and tribulations.
As Christians, we know that Jesus persevered through indescribable pain and anguish. How did He do endure?
Going a little ahead, he fell on his face, praying, “My Father, if there is any way, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want?” Matthew 26:39 MSG
Is that what we do in the face of trials and tribulation? Is our action to fall on our faces and talk with God? Do we miss the crucial part after we tell Him our desires? The part that says, “I’m not telling you what to do, please not my way; I want to do it your Way, Lord.”
Why is it so critical not to do it “our way”? Because, His Ways are higher than ours . . .
“I don’t think the way you think.
The way you work isn’t the way I work.”
God’s Decree. Isaiah 55:8
